I belong to the Elements Artist Group. DENALI Artists Respond to Music Inspired by Wilderness was conceived at the confluence of two languages - music and visual art. Elements Artist Group, six artists anchored in Alaska, created eighteen pieces of art in collaboration with nine composers from Composing in the Wilderness 2017.<br>\n<br>\nEach piece of art is a personal response to a musical composition. In 2012-13, Ree Nancarrow and I were selected to participate as a collaborative team in \"In A Time of Change \u2013 Trophic Cascades,\" a project of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, which offered opportunities for artists to work with scientists in a variety of research subjects for a year. The project culminated in an exhibition that traveled to various Alaska venues. Participating in the project influenced how I look at animals and plants and the ecosystems of which they are a part. DENALI Artists Respond to Music Inspired by Wilderness was conceived at the confluence of two languages - music and visual art.\nElements Artist Group, six artists anchored in Alaska, created eighteen pieces of art in collaboration with nine composers from Composing in the Wilderness 2017. Each piece of art is a personal response to a musical composition.
